http://www.thevine.com.au/music/news/the-tote-to-re_open-in-six-weeks.aspx

With the Tote re-opening in six weeks, some of you may think that the "high risk conditions" catagory imposed on live amplified music venues has been quashed. Although the new proprietors, Andrew Portokallis and Jon Perring, will immediately be applying for the 'high risk conditions' to be removed, this is no guarentee that it will happen. We still have a long way to go with it. I can't stress to the melbourne music community and it's supporters at large enough that it is not over, there is no permanent legislation yet, it is case by case. This in my opinion, is flat out not good enough.

I wish the new proprieters of "the Tote" (or whatever it will be called if Bruce Milne and James Milne don't let them use the name, but it will always be The Tote in our hearts) all the luck in the world with this venture.

The petitions may have been delivered, but all in all, it's not over yet, don't forget that.

Long Live The Tote.

Yamaha's LS9 School on again! PDF Print E-mail

<click here> check it out and hopefully see you there!

I had my first experience last night on an LS9, not bad I must say, a pretty intuitive console, HOWEVER...

It must be said in my opinion that the menu system leaves something to be desired. This is why I want to go and check out the school, as this will hopefully fill in a few blanks in my rather limited knowlege of these consoles.

It also must be said, using one of Broadcast Audio's "Translator"s in front of the channel made the experience on main vocal much more tolerable to my ears.

Hope to see you there!

Australasia’s leading touring audio suppliers; Jands Production Services Pty Limited (JPS) and Johnston Audio Services, (JAS) have entered into a Heads of Agreement to merge the two companies. The Heads of Agreement is subject to undertaking of due diligence which is expected to be completed by the end of June.

Both companies have long histories in the touring sound market and over the past four decades have supplied production services to nearly every major tour and music event in Australia and New Zealand.

Fisrt off the rank, A big CONGRATULATIONS! to the gents of Fever Artiste who got some radio play last night on Melbourne Australia's Commercial Station "Triple M" with their track "Little Robot". Sounded great over the airwaves guys!

Secondly, I'm mixing "Final Serenity" tonight at EV's in Croydon, come down and say hello for sure and support the lads and lasses, but it's a drug, smoke and alcohol free event.

Thirdly, I'm back at Noise bar tommorow night, mixing a few bands, so come down and say hi!

That is all for the moment, I hope the winter "very little work going around" blues isn't getting to too many of you, and come down to a few gigs, say hi, and MAKE CONTACTS! thats what it's all about.

Cheers

That Audio Guy
